putting bc on solid ground since 1997
What We Do
From consulting and strategy development to implementation and support, our experience is diverse and can help your project in many ways.
Geotechnical Engineering Services
From basic soils investigations to complex site characterizations, we have developed geotechnical investigations working with many different drilling methods and contractors for sites, big and small.

Forestry and Resource Management
Since 1997, our experience was developed while servicing the forest industry, an industry we continue to service today in many different ways. Working in both BC and Alberta, our work varies from providing reconnaissance level TSM (terrain stability mapping), terrain stability field assessments for both timber harvesting and road construction in challenging and even unstable terrain, bridge location and siting, bridge design and road failure back-analysis and specialized prescriptions for failures of both roads and landslides.

Piled Foundations and Soil Densification
Sometimes, its just not possible to avoid the requirement to have to build a deep foundation. Either the ground is just too soft, or the loads are just too high, and put simply, a deep foundation is the only solution that can be employed.
When this happens, rest assured that our experience with deep foundation systems can determine the most optimal solution for the problem at hand. Whether it be jet grouting, soil mixing, pre-loading conventional steel piles, timber piles, H-piles, helical piles, concrete piles or other techniques, we can help.

Temporary Slopes and Temporary Engineering Applications
In our line of business, we have to dig holes. Thats how it is. Whether its a utility, an excavation, a trench, or bulk excavation, the whole notion of excavation means we are dealing with earth and possibly water.
However, we have to do it in a safe manner. That means following Worksafe and OSHA standards. That means not damaging other peoples property. That means doing it in a way so as not to have a failure.
And thats how we can help. Whether it be an open cut assessment, a soil support system, a dewatering or unwatering scheme.....we have you covered for compliance with Worksafe BC regulations, 20.78 and 20.81.

Terrain Mapping, Geohazards, Terrain Assessments
In BC, the terrain is diverse and the hazards are numerous. With awareness in the recent years, terrain management has developed as a science to identify these hazards and incorporate them into planning, to avoid where possible, and if avoidance is not possible, to mitigate them.
Linear projects such as transmission lines, roads, and pipelines (including hydro penstock locations) require siting in proper places to avoid geohazards, or to identify when and where mitigation would be required. Such studies can range in a few kilometres, to several hundreds of kilometres, and are often required for early identification of risk factors for infrastructure.
For buildings, where homeowners often have to build in areas which require an assessment, there are a variety of studies that can be undertaken to provide guidance in how to ensure a safe building site, meeting the provincial guidelines for such as set out by the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
